It depends on several things - your current charger and which iPhone you have.

The newer iPhones such as iPhone 12 and 13 can be charged faster and with more watts than the older models. But it must be said that USB-A for Lightning will still be able to charge your iPhone 12 or 13 and newer - just a little slower than optimal.
USB-C is generally better and newer than USB-A, but USB-A is still used to a very large extent and is therefore still relevant in many cases.
